Quilt Show 2027: Save the Date Feb 20-21, 2027
-The theme for the 2027 quilt show is “Threads of Imagination”, reflecting the diversity and creativity of the quilts we make.
-Our challenge is “Traditional Designs – Re-imagined”. Your entry will need to finish to 24” square. To enter the challenge, choose a traditional design (it can be pieced, appliqued, or a combination) and re-interpret it, via one or more of the following techniques:
- Use of modern color palette
- Enlarge or shrink elements dramatically
- Rotate or repeat blocks in unusual layouts; use an alternate grid
- Mix techniques, such as piecing with applique and improvisation piecing
- Use a conceptual twist: turn the design into a story, or abstract it to be less literal
- Add embroidery, embellishment, or fabric manipulation to add texture
- Experiment with negative space
